Salmon Closing Dinner and Charity Auction 

The Kenmore Hotel hosted its annual celebration to the end of the salmon fishing season on the 15 October.

At 7:15pm a lone piper in a boat drifted through the arch of the Kenmore Bridge towards the jetty at the Kenmore Hotel, a toast to the fish followed by fireworks signified the closing of the 2011 fishing season. The fish can now breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy a wee holiday...at least for the next three months.

The evening was completed with a Gala dinner and Charity Auction in support of the following charities

CHAS - Childrens Hospice Association Scotland
AFYD - Angling For Youth Development
Nicola Murray Foundation

The final figure that was raised at the auction and from donations received was a staggering

                                                   £159,000

With an additional £40,000 raised for  World for Libya  which is a charity set up following the February 2011 uprising in  Libya to support the most vulnerable people  by providing aid directly and cooperating with other humanitarian organisations. The funds raised will go towards helicopters.
